Our teachers, administrators, community leaders, parents, and some of our students have worked together as a team on a game plan specifically for our school. That game plan is called our Alabama Continuous Improvement Plan (ACIP). The ACIP is our game plan to score an academic touchdown in reading and math. Our game plan also includes strate-gies that will improve safety, attendance, discipline, and our positive attitude for success! The ACIP game plan will take us all year to play but in the end we will have a victorious championship with our scores!
1. Pre-Game :Planning:
Passing the Academic Goal Line with ACIP
Gillmore Elementary School 2017 - 2018
2. Progress Chalk Talk:
Each year, our students’ progress is tracked with Global Scholar. This is a new computer program that accesses student knowledge and understanding on each of the common core standards for reading and math. This information will guide our instruction throughout the year. It is essential that students are present when these tests are given. If not, this could be a fumble for our team!
Teachers meet once each month with our Reading Coach, Mrs. Sheffield, to discuss, compare, and analyze test scores from classroom assessments, DIBELS, and Global Scholar.
Parents and Community: Are you ready for a winning season?
It’s the ACIP that keeps us on track and helps our students to achieve success! Data collected in our ACIP drives our instruction! It’s our game plan!
Our ACIP team looks at our game film (our test scores) each year and determines our strengths and weaknesses. Our teachers and administrators will be the children’s coaches and with your support, guidance, and practice at home, we will lead your children to victory!
Reading Game Plan: Teachers will implement Wonders Daily by actively engaging all students during small and whole group Instruction. Lessons will be delivered via the Qomo Interactive Panel. Teachers will use Global Scholar and various formative assessments to drive instruction. WOW Boxes , CCRS, and implementation of reading series will be monitored through regular walkthroughs.
Math Game Plan: Teachers will implement GoMath Daily. Lessons will be delivered via Qomo Interactive Panel. Students will use Global Scholar, GoMath, and Moby Max assessments to determine standard mastery. Implementation of GoMath, CCRS, and practices learned in turn around training will be monitored through regular walkthroughs.
Culture Game Plan: The Clarke County Board of Education has hired an attendance liaison who will monitor student attendance weekly. Administration will recognize WEEKLY, QUARTERLY, and ANNAUL PERFECT ATTENDANCE. Students who use Gillmore Manners will be recognized by Administration, Faculty, and Staff each week. Students will be given a “Shout Out”, a token, and a pencil as a reward for using Gillmore Manners. Classes as a whole, who receive a “Shout Out”, will be awarded a special trophy to keep in the class-room for an entire week.
3. Practice Strategies:
5. Final Score: At the end of the year, 2nd grade students will be prepared to successfully enter 3rd grade at Jackson Intermediate School! With our academic game plan in place, our students will score success for their future!
4.Half Time: By half-time (mid-year) we will see how much progress we have made toward that big academic touchdown. The only way we can stay in the game is if everyone on the team is working together for a win. Teach-ers will help those students who need more practice to pass the goal line! Teachers have been busy collecting data. On January 19th, members of our Central Office ACIP Team and our Principal, Mrs. Odom, will use this data to determine if our game plan is working. Teachers must provide evidence/documentation of all strategies implemented in the classroom.
